What happens when you add a fashion designer to an expert in virtual worlds? What happens when an expert in indigenous design principles joins an architectural practice working in the health sector? What happens when a UX and industrial designer catch up to chew the fat?

When designers collide, magic happens.

Join DIA online for a panel discussion lead by Tuba Kocaturk, Professor of Integral Design at Deakin University, featuring industry change-makers, showcasing the surprising and innovative outcomes that come through cross-pollinated practice. Panelists include

  • Marlo Lyda, designer-maker, curator and consultant, recipient of the Powerhouse Museum Residency Fellowship
  • Jefa Greenaway, Director, Greenaway Architects, academic (University of Melbourne), design advocate and a regular design commentator on ABC Radio Melbourne.
  • Darren Vukasinovic, Founder of Ex Animo and immersive installation artist who creates experiences that intersect technology, art and narrative.

For DIA Accredited Designers, attendance at this event is worth 2 CPD Points

DIA Community events are presented with the support of our Community Partners GH Commercial and Clipsal.

Tuba Kocaturk

Tuba’s expertise centres upon the creative, generative and collaborative use of information and communication technologies and digital media in built environment and in design. Tuba’s work is predominantly practice-based and advocates the use of “design thinking” and “system thinking” as a methodology for knowledge production (in research and education), and “trans-disciplinary thinking” as a strategy for cross-sector innovation (for the industry). Tuba has developed and led various postgraduate research and taught programmes and practice-based design studios exploring the creative, collaborative and innovative adoption of digital and media technologies in architectural and urban design.
