HotHaus and Acid.Flwrs embark on an exploration of the ideal environment for creative growth in a symbiotic combination of hand-blown glass and painterly blooms through the creation of a series of distinct miniature ecosystems. Welcome to ACIDHAUS.
Reflecting on how the physical environment we exist in impacts our ability to grow, and how we need to recognise and cultivate that environment to evolve and thrive into the future, the creative exploration converges into high-end miniature masterpieces where vessel and flower work in symbiosis as each other’s perfect match. Glass and flowers, a timeless duo, find new expression in this collaboration that reflects each artist’s connection to the world around them as both a source of inspiration and framework for evolution.
Hand-crafted vessels blown by local glassblower Amanda Dziedzic of HotHaus Glass Studio are carefully shaped to support and enhance different flowers, which are styled and customised by Claire Mueller of Acid.Flwrs. Both draw on historical techniques, adapted for a contemporary setting, refined through countless hours of practice which have required specific studio environments to work in, challenging spaces to maintain as independent creatives, yet a key requirement for creative growth. Together, the two elements create a dynamic that is more than the sum of their parts, representing their strong commitment to collaboration as a hot house for creative evolution.
This event unfolds as a small-scale floral installation, uniting unique glass vessels with their vibrant floral counterparts, to visualise the importance of cultivating an environment for creative growth.
