Accessible bathroom, Assistance animals welcomeBlomley Cashman Design Office (BCDO) presents Co//Operate, an interactive exhibition exploring the role of objects as conduits for connection. Co//Operate encourages visitors to contemplate how our spaces and things can influence our relationships in post-lockdown Melbourne. How can our environment be the catalyst that helps shared experience overcome the walls of caution that we learned to erect? BCDO imagines furniture that serves as a tool to heal community in a world that is unnavigable when alone, but rewards collaboration. In this world, you have permission to consider how play, humour and courage can facilitate the joy of exploring the unknown.
BCDO invites you to engage with a suite of novel objects that are intentionally frustrating to use as an individual, but come to life through cooperation.

Blomley Cashman Design Office was founded by Lachlan Cashman and Sam Blomley in 2022. The pair studied together at RMIT’s furniture design program and connected over a shared love of craft, a penchant for challenge, and the urge to sample each other’s lunches. Different backgrounds, desires, motives and skills mean the pair often find themselves working together as opposing forces, necessitating a practice that harmonises through justification and iteration. Their approach to design is the product of an expansive and critical dialogue and is surmised by the desire to cohesively express good ideas as percipient objects.
