Accessible bathroom, All gender bathroom, Assistance animals welcome, Low sensory / relaxedAs a multidisciplinary agency situated at the cross section of art and design, Interwoven is an exhibition involving each of the creative talent on The ARTL—NE roster: Cristina Guerrero Fernández, Josh Robenstone, Lillie Thompson, Natalie Petrevski, Sian Redgrave and TRiC.
Interwoven is an opportunity to explore the threads which tie us to our environment and community, reminding us of the power that art and design holds to evolve our approach to systems, objects, beings and ways of thinking.
Curated and directed by Marsha Golemac, the exhibition is an assemblage of responses that build upon each other; each creative thread intersecting and reinforcing the next. To launch the exhibition space, and welcome the community in, The ARTL—NE is hosting an opening night event.
Spanning art direction, creative direction, graphic design, photography, motion, styling and food design, Interwoven is the culmination of eight creative forces existing in one space.
Participants
Cristina Guerrero Fernández is a Barcelona born, Australian based art director and set designer whose practice hinges on sophisticated visual storytelling. With a background in fashion, design and contemporary art theory, Cristina’s research-led work—whether commercial, editorial or personal—relies on conceptual frameworks to produce visual outcomes steeped in meaningful narrative. Cristina’s work is quietly powerful. Bold and intriguing. Perfectly sparse and mesmerising in composition, her practice examines the world from unique angles and offers a fresh new perspective for clients and collaborators.
Josh Robenstone is an acclaimed documentary, editorial and advertising photographer + director who has exhibited in Melbourne, Sydney, Tokyo and Los Angeles. His first published monograph Basta! sits in the National Gallery of Australia’s permanent collection, with his work held in numerous private collections at home and abroad.
Lillie Thompson is a photographer whose artful approach to light, mood and composition has become a signature across her work in still life, architecture, design, interiors and portraiture. Traversing the line between art, editorial and advertising, Lillie’s appreciation of space and design is illuminated in each image. Through her lens, places and objects are elevated to new realms and suspended in hyperreal worlds. Curious shadows and thoughtful styling produce subtle twists and generate intrigue. Lillie’s work communicates entire stories in a single frame.
Natalie Petrevski is a stylist, consultant and creative director. As former Fashion Editor of Australian luxury title RUSSH, Natalie oversaw the editorial direction of both its print publication and digital channels. Her work as an independent stylist has since appeared across a diverse lineup of editorial publications and has earned her work with an array of clients. Natalie’s approach to fashion is wholly intuitive and her work is instantly recognisable: artistic, imbued with feeling and evocative of the times.
Sian Redgrave is a chef, food stylist and recipe developer whose work is elevated by her deep interest in fashion, art and design. With authenticity at the heart of her practice, Sian is recognised for her tasteful approach to heartfelt cooking, conversation and inspired curation. Using food as both an expressive medium and a means of connection, Sian’s approach to menu and concept development is one that combines historical techniques and modern design with an air of effortless and refined execution.
Founded by Tristan Ceddia and Rick Milovanovic in 2020, TRiC works with brands, institutions and individuals across industries, communities and cultures, exploring the potential of visual communication to create meaningful, original, and lasting brand experiences.
