It’s a Mad World is an online showcase of different perspectives on mental health, created by those with lived experience, and the Satellite Foundation. Using different mediums, we share stories of the funny and the sad, the happy and the mad, when navigating the complex world of mental health.

It’s a Mad World began as a place for people to meet and share their own stories of living with or around mental health challenges. The Satellite Foundation has created a space to talk and laugh freely without reactions of pity, of platitudes or people not knowing what to say. Through a collaborative process, a group of incredible young people shed light on the how the quirks of ‘madness’ bring colour and depth to life. We are now inviting more people into this conversation. While exploring this site, we invite you to listen up and be curious, and welcome your thoughts, feelings, and reflections to contribute to this ongoing conversation

Satellite Foundation

Satellite Foundation is a not-for-profit that connects and empowers young people aged 8 to 25+, working together with them to support their individual, ongoing growth and transformation journey. We want every young person to have access to safe, creative, and inclusive spaces for brave conversations that enhance their mental health, wellbeing, and connectedness. By providing facilitated spaces that centre lived experience, mental health and wellbeing, and creativity, young people can explore possibilities and realise their full potential. Satellite puts children and young people at the heart of everything we do, and we’re here for the long term – supporting young people into early adulthood and beyond.
