Assistance animals welcomeDrawing on the rich history and cultural significance of furniture, Call Out serves to track the contemporary trajectory of the architect as designer at the human scale. Presenting the work of several local and far-reaching design firms at the historic Union Bank, Prahran, Call Out explores how the design of furniture and objects has the potential to address ecological, energetic, and aesthetic systems through distinct material, formal, and social research.
Call Out is the second project of DO WORKS.

A champion for the idea of the architect as a special form of artist, Sean Godsell holds a special place in Australian architecture. Godsell’s designs, both built and unbuilt, demonstrate a commitment to experimentation, and an ability to connect the practical making of buildings with the poetic making of poignant dialogues.
Baracco+Wright Architects (est. 2004) are a small experimental architectural practice based in Melbourne, Australia. They seek opportunities to position the architect in the role of strategic thinker across disciplinary boundaries, exploring the whole built and natural environment. Their work sits between academia, practice and multiple creative fields such as art and landscape architecture. They build, unbuild, research and publish.
Simulaa is an architecture practice based on the lands of the Kulin Nation that is dedicated to both built commissions and research projects. The work of the practice is defined by considered analysis and a research-based approach that prioritises time-based design thinking that recognises architecture’s inherent entanglement with social, economic, aesthetic, political, and environmental concerns.
Second Edition is a research-based practice exploring deconstruction and reuse within the built environment based in Sydney. The practice engages in consultancy, material experimentation, prototyping, and knowledge sharing.
EXCX (Extra Contextual) is a spatial design practice operating through architecture, urbanism and research. The practice begins all projects by locating plural and alternative stories beyond a simple site boundary and a linear idea of history. These projects range from the speculative to the concrete, via writing, exhibitions, drawings and structures.
Five Mile Radius is a research, design, and manufacturing studio exploring a future based on natural and recycled construction materials where design thinking meets hard yakka.
Nüüd Studio is an architecture office led by Brad Mitchell and Kerli Valk based in Melbourne (Naarm/Birrarung-ga). Guided by narrative, they design considered built environments and objects. Their projects celebrate the stories of the people they work with, and those uncovered from intimate studies of place and history.
